Business confidence remains high through June according to the latest survey from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) released earlier this month. For the 16th consecutive month, independent businesses have been optimistic in their outlook on the American economy. In fact, the June report shows the 2nd highest level of confidence since NFIB began releasing a monthly report back in 1983! And, on the broader subject of business confidence and growth, CNBC’s annual report on the Top States for Business was released last week with Texas again taking the top spot, followed by Washington, Utah, Virginia and Colorado. At the other end of the spectrum is a geographically eclectic group of states with Alaska coming in as the worst state, followed by Mississippi, West Virginia, Hawaii and Rhode Island.
