We noted yesterday a story on JAB Holdings, frequently viewed as a potential purchaser of Dunkin Brands, making another purchase, albeit a small one at less than $500M and possibly buying Insomnia Cookies. The late night brand, which JAB would buy through its Krispy Kreme brand as a way to move the chain more prominently into the coffee and baked goods market, is thought to bring a strong delivery infrastructure. And finally, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported an increase of 0.1% in real average hourly earnings for all employees from May to June. The increase resulted from a 0.2% increase in average hourly earnings, offset by a 0.1% increase in the Consumer Price Index.
