We noted that Starbucks announced this week that it was making a number of staffing reductions to its corporate staff beginning next week. Company CEO Kevin Johnson announced the layoffs, but did not specify exact numbers. The layoffs come just a few months after the company announced that it would be closing as many as 150 stores around the country in 2019. And finally, digital webservice tracker Wallethub this week published the US Coffee Consumption Index identifying the top 100 cities in the country by coffee consumption. As one might expect, New York City and the urban West Coast communities topped the listing.
