The new Employment Eligibility Verification form, more commonly known as the I-9 Form and adopted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) last year becomes effective tomorrow, January 21. For the past several months, the USCIS was allowing the continued use of the older expired form (with an expiration date listed of 3/31/16) as well as the new I-9, which was published by the Office of Management and Budget in November, 2016. Tomorrow, that flexibility comes to an end and only the new version I-9 will be accepted – all prior versions of the form are invalid.
