seaside_fire2The horrific conflagration that devastated two seaside communities on the New Jersey shore yesterday serves as a sad reminder of what prompted DDIFO to look at moving our National Conference to Atlantic City this year – our desire to help New Jersey and its seaside tourism industry recover from the devastation wrought by last year’s super-storm Hurricane Sandy.   As seen on the news and in today’s papers, devastation returned to the Jersey Shore in the form of the windswept fire that hit Seaside Heights and Seaside Park.  It is reported this morning that more than 50 businesses were wiped out by the flames.  Our prayers again go out to the residents and businesses of the New Jersey Shore.
