The Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave (DFML) released new model notice forms last week and at the same time, updated its mandatory workplace poster. Fortunately, the PFML contribution rate for most employers has decreased with the new rates taking effect on January 1, 2023. That said, Massachusetts employers must provide a new PFML notice to current employees no late than today, December 2, 2022! There are two model notices that the DFML has released, the first being for employers with 25 or more covered individuals, while the second is designed for employers with a workforce of fewer than 25 covered individuals. The updated mandatory workplace poster, which must be in English and each language that is the primary language of 5 or more individuals in the workforce, should be posted in a location where it can easily be read by the covered employees.
