In the wake of the US Senate defeating his nomination of David Weil for another term as the administrator of the Wage and Hour Division (WHD) at the Department of Labor, President Biden has finally put forth a new nomination for the position. Jessica Looman, who previously served as the Executive Director of the Minnesota State Building and Construction Trades Council, has been serving as the acting administrator since Biden took office on January 20, 2021. She has now been formally nominated for the post and will likely be confirmed by the US Senate. She has not generated any significant opposition to her nomination at this point, nor has she made significant enemies during her tenure as acting administrator.
