As the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program and Restaurant Revitalization Funds expire or run out of funds, New York will begin accepting applications on June 10 for what the state is calling the Small Business Recovery Grant Program. The grant program, proceeds from which must go to reimbursable pandemic related expenses incurred between March 1, 2020 and April 1, 2021 is open to small businesses with 2019 or 2020 gross receipts between $25,000 and $500,000. Eligible expenses include payroll costs, commercial rent of mortgage payments, insurance or utility costs as well as a host of others costs. The program will give grants to eligible businesses ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 utilizing federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to underwrite the grants.
