By a vote of 25-12, the Albany County Legislature passed a ban on polystyrene foam containers for food or drinks.  The ban, which takes effect in six months, only applies to businesses in the upstate New York area with 15 locations nationwide!  That’s right, if you own 14 shops in Albany County, you are exempt from the ban, but own 1 shop in Albany and 14 others elsewhere in the country and you will be governed by the ban.  How this information will be discerned and monitored remains to be seen.  DDIFO was asked to comment and discuss the issue with radio talk hostess Melody Burns (Talk 1300AM).  Listen here with the ban discussion beginning at the 37:00 minute mark.
