On the positive side of the ledger from the perspective of the business community at least, the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation has adopted the Policy Activity Rebate (PAR) program allowing businesses the opportunity to possibly lower their premiums over time. Under this particular rebate program, which will become effective on July 1 of this year, employers can earn credits for undertaking certain activities that lead to improved workplace safety. Participating employers must earn at least 11 credits within the policy year in order to be eligible for a premium rebate of as much as 50%, up to $2,000 per policy year. The PAR program is one of a number of rebate programs offered by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
