Opponents of minimum wage increases didn’t fare as well in the Pacific Northwest this week, as voters in Tacoma Washington followed the Seattle lead and approved a minimum wage increase.  The silver lining to that cloud however is that the voters approved a $12 minimum, phased in over two years versus a $15 immediate minimum.  The current state minimum of $9.47 will be increased to $10.35 effective February 1, then to $11.15 in January 2017 and finally to $12 the following year.
