DDIFO sponsor Ovation Payroll advises that the United States is phasing out its old Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) format and will now use the UN standard for the labeling of chemicals, the international Safety Data Sheet (SDS) format.  OSHA‘s shift will take place over a three year period (12/13 to 6/16).  If employees have access to chemicals in the workplace, they must keep updated Safety Data Sheets available and employers must have trained workers on the new label elements by December 1, 2013.  This may/may not affect all franchise owners, but we wanted you to be aware of the impending change just to be safe.
