According to human resource and employee relations firms, the President’s Executive Order signed last week could increase the overtime threshold to as much as $52,000 per year – meaning that anyone not guaranteed that much in their salary would be entitled to overtime pay. In one of its client alerts, HR Consultant Sesco Management, advised that in addition to the threshold increase, the President’s order, which contains no specific timeline on implementing changes could also impact how overtime exemption rules would be applied.
