We can expect the proliferation of paid leave across the nation that we’ve seen in several states, cities and towns to continue as new reports and studies identify paid sick and family medical leave and more specifically, paternity leave as a top priority of so-called Millennials. More than previous generations, millennials demand the benefit from their employer, according to the New York Times. Eighty-three percent of American millennials say they are more likely to join a company that offers paid leave, and 38 percent say they would move to another country if it had better leave policies, according to Ernst & Young global generational survey. Although the study focused on millennials involved in the financial services, high-tech and other more competitive industries, we can expect the ripple effect to eventually drive additional employee benefits across all industries, fast food included.
