Katie Lindquist of the Poland, Maine Sun Journal writes that Poland will soon “run on Dunkins,” “eat fresh” and shop “where everything’s $1.00.”
The old Just Friends restaurant site on Route 26 has been sold and is being redeveloped by Kevin Pacheco of Lewiston.
According to Arthur Dunlap, the CEO of the town of Poland, there will be three buildings with two or three small businesses on the property. Dunkin’ Donuts, Subway, and Family Dollar have permits so far.
Dunlap says that Pacheco “is hoping to have these … businesses open this coming spring.”
Construction will not just be on the property, but on the road itself. “The road entrance will be revamped with a turning lane on Maine Street so as not to impede traffic flow on Route 26,” Dunlap says.
Dunkin’ Donuts has been a strong franchise since 1955. The hope is that Dunkin’ Donuts will provide a strong foundation for other businesses in our community.
