We told you in our last issue that the Senate hearing on the nomination of Andy Puzder as Labor Secretary would be held yesterday, February 2. After we went to press last week however, we learned it had been delayed for the 4th time. As of this writing, the hearing is postponed indefinitely until the nominee completes all the requisite paperwork. By way of update, as recently as yesterday, Puzder committed to step down as CEO of CKE Restaurants and divest of his interests in the company once he is confirmed.  There has been a concerted effort by union interests and their allies to block the nomination – a fact that makes it that much more important for franchisees and other business interests to visit this IFA website created to simplify the process of writing and submitting letters in support of Puzder to the US Senate. Please do so!
