Raise the Wage Nebraska, the advocacy group spearheading a ballot initiative to mandate a $15 per hour wage in the Cornhusker State claims it has already submitted nearly double the 87,000 certified signatures necessary to be placed before the voters this year. The ballot question, should it be certified for the November ballot will ask Nebraskans if the current minimum wage of $9 an hour should be increased to $15 per hour by 2026. The minimum would be phased in over a three-year time frame, with the first $1.50 per hour hike coming on January 1, 2023.
