The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced early this week that the $28.6 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) would officially open next Monday, May 3 at 12:00 Noon EDT, but restaurant owners and operators will be able to register for the program through the dedicated SBA RRF portal beginning at 9:00 EDT today, Friday, April 30. In the announcement, SBA administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman urged restaurant operators to register immediately for an account, review the program guide as well as the sample application and begin preparing the required documents to apply for assistance through the program. She further reiterated that the first 21 days of the initial RRF rollout will be targeted and prioritized for businesses owned and controlled by women, veterans and socially and/or economically disadvantaged people. Earlier this week, the agency sponsored webinars that provided guidance on applying for the RRF and the final one is scheduled for this morning at 10:00 AM EDT. You can register here. Failing that, an earlier webinar from Wednesday is now available here on youtube.  The actual presentation begins around the 15:30 mark after a lengthy array of introductions. The SBA has committed that the application process will remain open until all funding has run out. More information is available on the SBA website here.
