The 2016 election promised to undo many actions the Obama administration took on a host of issues – most notably, the Affordable Care Act. But, there are many regulatory actions that the Trump administration has teed up for a mulligan, if you will, that are causing angst in the organized labor camp and measured joy in business circles. The most glaring area of concern remains the Department of Labor, where we still await the Senate confirmation hearing on the President’s 2nd Labor nominee. That said, the book on nominee Alex Acosta, who has previously been confirmed by the Senate on 3 occasions, is that he will bring a less-litigious and more collaborative approach to employer issues – a welcome change in focus, and one that can’t get here too soon!
