The SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman has announced that the agency will expand eligibility for its $25 billion cash grant program to a host of additional businesses. SBA’s Targeted Economic Injury Disaster Loan Advance grant program, which provides up to $10,000 to eligible businesses as well as its Supplemental Targeted Advance program ($5,000 follow-up grants) will soon both be accepting applications from eligible businesses, regardless of whether or not the business had applied for an EIDL loan. Up to this point, the Targeted EIDL and Supplemental programs were only available to businesses that had applied for an EIDL by December 27, 2020. Under the proposed changes, all businesses that are in a low-income area and have seen a significant drop in revenue over the course of COVID-19 will be considered.
