They don’t call them the Twin Cities for nothing!  The City Council of St. Paul has amended the city’s pending sick leave mandate to more closely align with that of its twin city, Minneapolis.  The changes were made earlier this week after a task force that includes some business owners and is considering the issue suggested that there be consistency between the two.  Minneapolis passed a mandatory sick leave ordinance back in May of this year.  The St. Paul ordinance will apply to all businesses within the capital city, while the Minneapolis Ordinance , although is does provide for sick leave for employees of companies with 5 or fewer workers, does not mandate that those employees be paid for their sick leave. The St Paul City Council is expected to formally vote by the end of this month.
