Starbucks yesterday announced that Laxman Narasimhan will become the next Chief Executive Officer of the company beginning next month on October 1, 2022. Narasimhan will work closely with founder and current interim CEO Howard Schultz for the next six months after which time, he will fully assume the CEO role and join the Starbucks Board of Directors. Narasimhan, who has been the CEO of London-based consumer health, hygiene and nutrition company, Reckit, led the company through a major strategic transformation. He will relocate to Seattle from London while Schultz will continue in his current role as interim CEO until April 1, 2023 at which time Narasimhan will take the helm. In the meantime, the company battles against unionization efforts continues with a plethora of union representation elections still open in Starbucks stores across the country.
