Uh oh, McDonald’s will offer free Wi-Fi

The Seattle PI reports that fast food chain McDonald’s announced today that in mid-January it will begin offering free Wi-Fi to customers — something Starbucks will do only for latte lovers with Starbucks cards, and only for two hours a day. Why free it up? Because McDonald’s wants to become a hangout, just like its rival.

Dunkin Donuts offering free Dolphins tickets

As part of a partnership between Dunkin Donuts and the Miami Dolphins, the first 50 people at 10 Dunkin Donuts restaurants, including three stores on the Treasure Coast, on Saturday will receive two free tickets to the Dec. 27 game between the Dolphins and the Houston Texans at Land Shark Stadium. The promotion starts at 7 a.m.

National Aquarium in Baltimore, Dunkin Donuts partner on promotion

Rachel Bernstein reports in the Baltimore Business Journal that the National Aquarium in Baltimore and Dunkin’ Donuts have launched a campaign to give customers extra jelly filling. The campaign, called “One Sweet Deal,” gives Dunkin’ Donuts customers a $5 off admission to the aquarium’s jellyfish exhibit. The coupons can be picked up at the more than 100 Dunkin’ Donut locations in Greater Baltimore.

Starbucks’ Via Instant Coffee Goes National

The Puget Sound Business Journal reports that Starbucks Corp. said its Via instant coffee product will be available nationally on Wednesday. And to overcome the negative image of instant coffee, the Seattle coffee giant said it will stage taste competitions between Via and its fresh-brewed coffee next week.
