Toni Whitt writes in the Herald Tribune that getting Dunkin’ Donuts in parts of the region just got a little less convenient after two of the stores, operated by franchisee AlphaRock LLC, closed last week.
The stores at 2480 Stickney Point Road in Sarasota and 4233 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte were closed as part of AlphaRock’s recent bankruptcy filing, said Andrew Mastrangelo, a spokesman for Dunkin’ Brands Inc.
“Despite the store closings, Dunkin’ Donuts remains committed to Florida and excited about building and strengthening our presence in the market,” Mastrangelo said.
There are 14 Dunkin’ Donuts stores remaining in the Sarasota and Port Charlotte areas.
