Last week, the US Supreme Court declined to take under review a challenge to Workers Compensation in the state of Florida.  The case, an appeal on which the Florida State Supreme Court had already refused to review, was brought by a nurse injured on the job who contended that the “new” workers compensation system, put in place by Governor Jeb Bush back in 2003, unfairly favored employers.  This was the final challenge available to the nurse plaintiff and now rejected, it means the Florida 1st Circuit Court of Appeals decision, upholding the state workers compensation system is constitutional and remains in force as is.
