Back during his reelection campaign in 2012, President Barack Obama famously lectured – or scolded – successful business owners on how or why they became successful – opining that others owned some responsibility for their success. “Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that, somebody else made that happen . . .” Well, apparently that idea is catching on and going to new levels. A Pew Research Center study released this week, found that 65% of Americans credit “advantages of life” for wealth rather than a good work ethic while 33% believe it results from hard work! An astounding 82% of Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents along with 45% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents believed it as well. That is a discouraging statistic!
